Over 40 years ago Linda Tellington Jones recognised the link between physical, emotional and mental well-being while working with animals. Linda along with her sister Robyn Hood have developed the Tellington TTouch Method in a positive, gentle and effective way to solve behavioural issues, increase self-confidence and self-control, enhance performance and improve communication and relationships between humans and animals. Through using a series of unique bodywork, known as TTouches, groundwork, where we lead dogs through a confidence course, we help to create physical balance through good posture, relaxation and overall enhancement of trust.
Pauline will take you through how to observe our dog, take note of changes in the quality of your dog’s coat, look for coat pattern changes and learn how to do hands-on observations. She will then explain the 4 different families of TTouches and how they benefit the dog, allowing you a chance to try some hands-on work with your own dog. Finally, she will walk you and your dog quietly through a confidence course, helping your dog to be more aware of their body.
Pauline Mitchell is a certified Tellington TTouch Practioner. She started her TTouch journey over 6 years ago when her husband booked her on to her first course and from there she was hooked. The quiet gentle way of handling dogs really resonated with her and it wasn’t long before she went to train at Tilley Farm, Farnbourgh, Bath, completing numerous case studies and finally qualifying on her last 5 day clinic in Durham with Janet Findlay.
During her last year of training, she welcomed Labrador girl Amber to the family. Right from the start, at just 8 weeks, Pauline knew she was going to be different from her previous 3 Labs. She didn’t behave in the same way as her previous puppies had and as she grew into adolescence, it was obvious she was not developing properly. Amber was diagnosed with moderate hip dysplasia by the age of 2 years and has been Pauline’s greatest Tutor in Tellington TTouch methods. Methods which Pauline uses every day with her own dog and client’s dogs in order to calm them and help them move more fluently through their bodies.
This workshop is for anyone that has a dog from pet owners to canine professionals.
